Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured FM 1697 in Washington County, TX on September 21st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:44 a.m. A Nissan Sentra operated by 55-year-old Amanda Jean Barrera was headed northbound on FM 1697 when it lost control at a curve and veered from the road. From there, it stuck a fence and brush line before overturning. Barrera suffered serious injuries in the collision and was charged with Failure to Drive in Single Lane and Open Container in Motor Vehicle.
