What Happened

Police have information on a crash that killed a driver at I-2 in Mission, TX on June 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened round 9:01 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound in a middle lane of travel as a Fiat 500 was in an outside lane. Authorities allege the Fiat changed lanes, allegedly when unsafe to do so, before colliding with the truck. In the crash, reports say the Fiat overturned when the truck traveled southeast,  striking a parked vehicle, fixed object and fence. Authorities say the 18-year-old Fiat operator had possible, unconfirmed injuries. The truck operator, identified as 52-year-old Anastacio Martinez Jr, was fatally injured. Additional inforamtion was not immediately available.
