What Happened

Police have inforamtion on a crash that killed one person involved at FM 916 in Johnson County, TX on September 1st, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1:21 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-250 headed eastbound on FM 916 is alleged to have veered out of its lane of travel, possibly due to driver distraction, before entering into the path of a westbound Mercedes-Benz GL. Reports say the two vehicles collided, the impact sending the Ford into a nearby guardrail and the Mercedes-Benz in the boat it was towing and that had become unhitched in the collision. Police say the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, identified as 37-year-old Andres Loewen, was hospitalized with serious injuries he later died from. His two passengers were allegedly uninjured. The other driver was also allegedly uninjured, according to police. Authorities did not have any additional information available.
