What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist at FM 1960 and I-45 in Houston, TX on November 27th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. According to investigators, a pair of vehicles were allegedly involved in a race, traveling at a high rate of speed. Police say an officer was attempting to stop one of the vehicles when it exited the roadway. From there, it allegedly ran a red light and traveled through an intersection, colliding with a 19-year-0ld motorcyclist. The motorcyclist, identified as Andres Saldaña Sorto, was killed in the crash. The teen driver of the suspect vehicle allegedly attempted to flee the scene before later being apprehended, reports say. Reports also indicate the teen was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter in connection with the crash. Additional information was not available.
