What Happened

Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety have information on a crash that killed one person involved at State Hwy 302 near Kermit, TX on June 17th, 2023. Police believe it happened around 5:30 a.m. and involved a Chevrolet Silverado and tractor-trailer. It has been alleged by officials the Chevrolet may have left its westbound lane of travel before veering into eastbound lanes, colliding with the tractor-trailer. The impact caused the Chevrolet to catch fire and left the driver, 24-year-old Andrew Cervantes, with fatal injuries at the scene.
