What Happened

San Antonio Police are reporting on a crash that killed a man at Prue Rd and Kyle Seale Pkwy in San Antonio, TX on September 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened as a BMW and Mercedes were racing on a two-lane road. The BMW was reportedly headed up a hill in the wrong lane when it collided head-on with an approaching Nissan operated by 22-year-old Andrew Gomez. Gomez was transported to an area hospital with injuries that he died from shortly after. The BMW driver was also hospitalized with serious injuries. Police say the driver had alcohol in his system and faces charges that including racing causing death, manslaughter and intoxication manslaughter. The driver of the Mercedes, age 18, left the scene but later returned and was arrested. Additional information was not immediately available.
