What Happened

Police are investigating a crash that injured at least one person at I-20 in Callahan County, TX on October 4th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 2:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-250 was westbound before it reportedly veered off the roadway to the left, striking a road sign in the center median. The vehicle then crossed both lanes, entering the north barrow ditch, and ultimately crossing the IH-20 North Access Road. The vehicle continued through a pasture fence, entering a field where it struck a tree head-on before rolling onto its left side, coming to rest facing northwest. Authorities noted a strong odor of alcohol on the driver, who allegedly showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking while driving. Police say 24-year-old passenger, Andrew Lopez, was seriously injured while the driver allegedly had less serious injuries. Additional inforamtion was not available.
