What Happened

Houston Police are working to determine what happened in a crash involving a police cruiser that left a woman dead. Authorities say it happened at Southwest Freeway and Wilcrest Dr in Houston, TX on January 17th, 2023. According to investigators, a woman is alleged to have stepped into the roadway as officers arrived at the scene of a non-emergency call. She was struck by a police vehicle, suffering fatal injuries as a result. Authorities say the emergency lights on the vehicle were not active at the time due to the nature of the call.
