What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at I-10 in Houston, TX on May 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:41 p.m. According to investigators, an Audi A4 operated by 19-year-old Angelina Alcantar was headed westbound on I-10 when it collided with the rear of a Kenworth tractor-trailer also traveling westbound. Alcantar's 3-year-old passenger was seriously injured, according to reports. Alcantar suffered less serious injuries while the truck driver, a 37-year-old Brownsville man, was not injured. Reports also indicate a DWI with Child Passenger charge was recommended and/or issued against Alcantar.
