What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-10 in Waller County, TX on June 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:10 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 32-year-old Houston man was eastbound on I-10 before allegedly failing to control its speed. The truck collided with the rear of a Chrysler Pacifica with four occupants. The collision caused the Chrysler to spin into a nearby barrier wall while the tractor-trailer veered into a second tractor-trailer, causing both to overturn. The driver of the second tractor-trailer, identified as 73-year-old Anibal Francisco Calcagno, had suspected serious injuries in the collision. The occupants of the Chrysler were not injured, according to officials. The driver of the first tractor-trailer had suspected serious injuries and was cited/charged with Failure to Drive in a Single Lane.
