What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed a pair of pedestrians at Westheimer Rd in Houston, TX on March 27th, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. Investigators are saying a vehicle operated by 27-year-old Donovan Donte Harris was allegedly traveling twice the speed limit when it collided with a pair of people crossing the street. The pedestrians, identified as Ann and Sederick Barrett, died at the scene. Harris, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash, was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. A passenger in the vehicle reportedly fled the scene on-foot. Additional information was not immediately available.
