Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Spur 330 in Baytown, TX on May 24th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:17 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 2500 operated by a 43-year-old Crosby man was headed northbound behind a commercial truck operated by a 60-year-old Anthony Craig Thomas. Police say the Dodge failed to control its speed and first attempted evasive action before colliding with the rear of Thomas's vehicle, which had reportedly been traveling at a low rate of speed for unknown reasons. The impact pushed his vehicle into a guardrail where it also overturned. The guardrail impaled the inside of the vehicle, causing Thomas fatal injuries. The Crosby man was not injured.
