What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 60 in Deaf Smith County, TX on January 19th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:45 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by 64-year-old Hereford, TX man was stopped at a northbound stop sign on County Rd 1 when, according to investigators, it proceeded into the intersection and failed to yield. It the was then struck by a westbound Ford Mustang operated by 27-year-old Anthony Severo Rivera-Velasquez. Rivera-Velasquez was seriously injured while her 26-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured and was issued a Failure to Yield Row at Yield Intersection.
