What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that injured a man and three children at Hwy 359 and Ranch Rd in Laredo, TX on December 14th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8 a.m. Investigators believe a tractor-trailer headed eastbound on Hwy 359 attempted to turn left into a landfill lot before colliding with a westbound Mazda Tribute. Officials believe the truck failed to yield to the Mazda and the driver of the Tribute, 31-year-old Anthony Vela, was injured. Three other occupants, ages 5, 2 and 1, were also injured and all four were hospitalized. The driver of the truck, 64-year-old Jesus Cazares, was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
