Police are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 1301 in Wharton, TX on August 17th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 6:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-350 headed eastbound on Boling Hwy is said to have allegedly run a red light before colliding with the rear of a Kia Sorento at an intersection. The impact is said to have caused the Kia to strike a Ford F-150 ahead, the impact seriously injuring 49-year-old Kia operator, Araceli Martinez. Two passengers, ages 17 and 8, had minor injuries, while the driver of the F-350 was cited for Disregarding Official Traffic Control Device. Additional information was not immediately available.
