Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 1469 in Leon County, TX on July 24th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:40 p.m. A Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 28-year-old Marquez man was coming to a stop to make a right hand turn into a private drive when the motorcycle behind it is said to have performed a faulty evasive maneuver to avoid a collision. The action resulted in the driver, identified as 26-year-old Austin Cole, suffering fatal injuries when he was ejected from the vehicle. The other driver was not injured and was cited for having an inoperable or obscured stop lamp.
