Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person at FM 740 in Heath, TX on June 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:58 p.m. Investigators are saying a Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 33-year-old Forney man was headed northbound on Laurence Dr. The vehicle is allegedly to have partially veered from its lane, over a curb and colliding with a pedestrian setting trashcans outside their home. The pedestrian, identified as 78-year-old Barbara Wallace, was struck and thrown several feet, suffering fatal injuries from the collision. The Chevrolet is said to have continued traveling into a mailbox before fleeing the scene. Authorities say charges for Intoxication Assault and Accident Involving Personal Injury or Death were recommended and/or issued against the Forney man. Additional information was not available.
