What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 59 in Atlanta, TX on February 23rd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 2:34 p.m. According to investigators, a Volkswagen Beetle was southbound on Loop 59 prior to allegedly running a red light and colliding with a Ford F-150 turning at the Emma Lena Way intersection. The collision left the driver of the Ford, identified as 64-year-old Betty Cooley, with injuries said to be non-life-threatening in nature. The other driver, identified as 38-year-old Levi Riojas, was more seriously injured, reports indicate.
