Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a woman at US 59 in Polk County, TX on June 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Taurus operated by 20-year-old Taya Gordon was westbound at a stop sign on US 59. Officers allege the vehicle failed to yield to southbound traffic and collided with a Mercedes-Benz operated by 50-year-old Betty Hood. Police say Hood had injuries believed to be non-life-threatening while a teen in the Ford was more seriously injured. Gordon was not injured, according to authorities and an Intoxication Assault charge was recommended and/or issued.
