What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two drivers at TX 17 in Reeves County, TX on September 30th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. A GMC Sierra operated by 20-year-old Billy Gene Alex was headed northbound on Hwy 17 when it veered out of its lane and collided with a southbound tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer veered from the road into a utility pole and the 64-year-old Ozona driver suffered serious injuries. Alex also suffered serious injuries and was cited for Failure to Drive in Single Lane and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
