What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash US 287 in Midlothian, TX on November 11th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:26 a.m. Investigators are saying a Mazda 6 was eastbound before approaching a stationary vehicle. The stationary vehicle was turned sideways, blocking both lanes of travel, after possibly having been involved in an earlier accident. Reports say that as the Mazda approached, it collided with the rear of the stationary vehicle while attempting to perform an evasive action. The driver of the Mazda, identified as 21-year-old Braelyn Johnson, was seriously injured. The other driver, who was not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured.
