What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at Anderson Ln in Austin, TX on June 26th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:42 p.m. A Dodge Charger operated by 29-year-old Richard Macedo Soto reportedly struck the rear of a vehicle. After the collision, the Charger made a lane change and merged into a middle lane, colliding with a Chevrolet Impala operated by 21-year-old Brenda Gallegos. Gallegos and her 7-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. Soto suffered more serious injuries, however reportedly fled the scene on foot before later being apprehended. Police issued Soto a DWI charge.
