What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at Hwy 62 in Orange, TX in July 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:45 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Challenger was headed southbound when it collided with a Dodge pulling out of a private drive. The collision left the driver of the Dodge, identified as 30-year-old Brenton Vaughan, suffered fatal injuries. A passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The truck operator, 58-year-old Jose Caloca was not injured, according to police. Additional information was not immediately available.
