Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at US 277 in Maverick County, TX on October 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:15 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram operated by 27-year-old Arturo Cantu allegedly crossed double yellow lines before colliding head-on with a F0rd F-250 operated by 30-year-old Brian Gonzalez. The collision is said to have caused the Ford to go into a skid before entering into a ditch, ejecting Gonzalez from the vehicle. The Dodge overturned into a westbound shoulder in the impact, leaving both drivers with fatal injuries. Additional information was not available.
