What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 1925 in Hidalgo County, TX on December 24th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:03 a.m. A Ford F-150 operated by 28-year-old Bryan Chavez was headed westbound on FM 1925 when it veered from the road. Investigators believe the truck first traveled through a barrow ditch and hit a utility pole. It then also struck a metal fence pole and went though the fence before hitting another post and overturning. Chavez suffered serious injuries in the crash. Police allege that Chavez was intoxicated at the time of the crash and records indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge was issued.
