What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at FM 762 in Fort Bend, TX on October 11th, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 5 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 47-year-old Newgulf man was previously headed northwest on FM 762 before veering onto a southeast lane of traffic, possibly due to a a sudden bout of coughing. The truck is said to have collided with a Dodge Ram operated by 21-year-old Bryce Dean Pilkington, which had been traveling in the southeast lane. Pilkington was killed in the collision. The Newgulf man and his 23-year-old passenger were not injured. Police did not offer any more details.
