What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist at FM 1489 in Fort Bend County, TX on May 17th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:42 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 3500 operated by 56-year-old James Rivette was headed southbound behind a motorcycle operated by 30-year-old Bryce Sheppard. Police say the Dodge reportedly failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a motorcycle, which caused Sheppard fatal injuries. Rivette was not injured and reports indicate officials recommended and/or issued an Intoxication Manslaughter charge.
