What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at State Hwy 31 in Tyler, TX on June 14th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:23 a.m. Investigators say a pair of motorcycles were headed westbound on Chandler Hwy before one began to veer out of its lane. Reports say the bike struck a pole and road sign before coming to rest. The second motorcycle is said to have toppled onto its side, sliding on the roadway into a curb. The operator of the first motorcycle, identified as 51-year-old Stephen Browning III, was fatally injured. The other motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Bryce Wilkerson, was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries. Additional information was not available.
