What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials identified the person killed in a crash at US Hwy 377 in Erath County, TX on November 14th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 6 p.m. A Ford F-150 operated by 59-year-old Theresia Dearman was headed eastbound on Business 377 when it reportedly attempted to cross southbound lanes to go onto northbound US 377. Investigators say it then failed to yield right of way to a Kawasaki motorcycle operated by 25-year-old Cade Schmutz which was headed southbound. The vehicles collided and Schmutz was hospitalized with injuries that he later died from. Dearman was reportedly uninjured.
