What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Broadway St in Jefferson, TX on April 18th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:55 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by an 81-year-0ld Karnack man was headed eastbound on Hwy 49 when it veered left, allegedly to avoid another vehicle turning ahead of the truck. Once it did so, it veered into the path of a westbound Ford Fusion operated by 32-year-old Caitlin Elizabeth Williams, the vehicles colliding as a result. Police say Williams had injuries believed to be serious in nature while the Karnack man was not injured. Police recommend a citation of Failure to Control Speed.
