Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 287 in Mildred, TX on February 10th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 11:23 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Equinox headed northwest on US Hwy 287 as a Honda CR-V was allegedly attempting to pass in a no pass zone. The vehicle is said to have lost control in the wet roadway before colliding with the Honda. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 77-year-old Calvin Edwards Hr, was fatally injured. A passenger in the vehicle, age 73, had non-life-threatening injuries, police say. Additional information was not immediately available.
