What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian at Hwy 31 in Tyler, TX on August 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. 46-year-old Cameron Overshown was reportedly escorting guests at a private venue across the road to a parking lot when he was struck by a passing vehicle operated by 54-year-old Marylan Douglas. Overshown was hospitalized with injuries that he later died from, Douglas was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
