What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at FM 529 in Harris County, TX on September 2nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:33 p.m. A Mack truck operated by a 38-year-old Houston man was traveling westbound on FM 529 as it came up on slowing westbound traffic. It then failed to control its speed and veered into an eastbound lane. It struck a Hyundai Santa Fe before veering into a shoulder and down a ditch before coming up and striking a Honda Civic. 40-year-old Candice Edwards, a passenger in the Santa Fe, was seriously injured. The other two drivers were not injured and the Houston man was cited for Failure to Drive in a Single Lane and Failure to Control Speed.
