What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at TX 16 in Gillespie County, TX on July 3rd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:10 a.m. A passenger vehicle operated by 28-year-old Candido Rodriguez was headed north on TX 16 when it veered from its lane across a center stripe into embankment. It then started to roll through a fence and went sideways, rolling though another fence into a field. Rodriguez was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. Police allege that Rodriguez had been drinking. He was issued a Failure to Drive in Single Lane charge.
