What Happened

A driver was injured in a crash at State Hwy 249 in Harris County, TX on September 29th, 2022. Police say it happened around 3:14 p.m. According to investigators, a Kia Optima operated by an unnamed 39-year-old Houston woman was headed northbound on the Tomball Pkwy feeder road. A Hyundai Elantra operated by 48-year-old Carlos Eduardo Ruiz, was headed eastbound at the Sam Houston Pkwy feeder road. Officers allege the Kia ran a red light and collided with a Hyundai at the intersection, seriously injured Ruiz. The Houston woman was not injured, according to police.
