What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at FM 2589 and US 87 in Moore County, TX in August 15th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:35 a.m. According to authorities, a Mazda CX-7 operated by 61-year-old Carlos Ibarbo-Flores was headed northbound on FM 2589 as it approached the intersection with US 87. Investigators believe the vehicle disregarded the posted stop sign before traveling into the intersection and colliding with an eastbound semi-truck. Ibarbo-Flores suffered fatal injuries in the impact. The truck driver was hospitalized with serious injuries. Authorities had no additional details to share.
