What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a woman at FM 1488 in Montgomery County, TX on February 6th, 2022. They say it happened around 5:52 p.m. Investigators say a Kia Forte operated by a 43-year-old The Woodlands man was headed eastbound on FM 1488 behind a Toyota Corolla operated by a 21-year-old The Woodlands man. The Forte reportedly collided with the rear of the Corolla, pushing it into two other vehicles ahead that were stopped for the red light. The driver of one of those vehicles, 67-year-old Carol Tompkins, suffered serious injuries. The other drivers involved were not injured and records indicate a DWI charge was issued for the driver of the Kia.
