Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at Cypresswood Dr in Harris County, TX on August 27th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:45 p.m. Investigators say a Ford Explorer operated by a 33-year-old Houston man was eastbound before allegedly performing an evasive maneuver to avoid a crash. They say the vehicle traveled across the road before colliding with a pedestrian standing near the intersection with Cypress Forest Drive. The vehicle contained through a private lawn from before crashing into a home. The pedestrian, identified as 49-year-old Carolee Dwyer, suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Police allege the Houston man fled the scene on-foot before later being located. Sources indicate he was charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid Involving Death and Felon In Possession of a Weapon.
