What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at State Hwy 183 in Bedford, TX on May 15th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:48 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 61-year-old Haltom City, TX man was headed westbound on State Hwy 183 when it performed an unsafe lane change, striking a Ford Fusion operated by 28-year-old Jordan De La Garza. The impact pushed the Fusion across lanes where it struck a Mazda 2 operated by 25-year-old Candice Marie Mitchell. Both Mitchell and a passenger in the Fusion, identified as 27-year-old Chantel Elizabeth De La Garza, suffered minor injuries. Mr. De La Garza was not injured, nor was the Haltom City man, according to reports.
