What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 7 in Houston, TX on June 11th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 53-year-old Broaddus woman reportedly entered a curve at an unsafe speed. This caused the truck to lose control and veer through a median when it came into contact with a Ford Ranger operated by 72-year-old Charles Edward Young. The Ford then veered into a ditch and struck a power pole before catching fire. Young was unable to exit the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. The Broaddus woman was not injured and charges are pending.
