What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Front St and Bankhead Hwy in Midland, TX on June 19th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:46 p.m. Police say a vehicle operated by 32-year-old Braden Allen was headed eastbound on Front Street while a second vehicle operated by 41-year-old Charles Young was headed westbound. Police allege Young's vehicles veered from its lane into a turn lane and into oncoming traffic, colliding with the other vehicle. Allen's vehicle caught fire and crashed into an electric pole and fence, causing minor injuries to both he and a 7-year-old passenger. Young suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
