What Happened

Austin Police are investigating a crash that killed two people at 51st St and I-35 in Austin, TX on July 10th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:21 a.m. A Toyota Camry reportedly lost control and fell from an overpass under unclear circumstances. Four people were in the vehicle at the time, two of which suffered fatal injuries after being ejected. They were identified as 38-year-old Charlie Jackson and 20-year-old David Bearden. A third person was hospitalized in critical condition while the driver fled the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
