What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that injured a driver at US 96 in Kirbyville, TX on February 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 was reportedly previously stationary while waiting at the intersection with Harris St before it proceeded into the intersection. The vehicle is said to have failed to yield, colliding with a Volkswagen Tiguan operated by 38-year-old Nicole Ward. Ward was reportedly uninjured while the Ford driver, identified as 37-year-old Chelsi Renee Winn, is said to have suffered minor injuries. A passenger in the Ford, age 13, was more seriously injured.
