What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at President George Bush Turnpike in Garland, TX on April 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:14 p.m. A commercial truck operated by a 36-year-old male was headed westbound on the turnpike while a Cadillac operated by 65-year-old Cheryl Bruner Jacobs was traveling behind the truck. Police say it changed lanes and was in the process of passing the truck when the truck changed lanes when unsafe and entered into the Cadillac's lane. The Cadillac swerved, lost control and veered back into its lane, colliding with the tractor-trailer. Jacobs suffered minor injuries in the collision while the other driver was not injured. Reports indicate he was charged with Changing Lanes When Unsafe.
