What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed three people involved at State Hwy 90 in Grimes County, TX on April 4th, 2025. Police are saying the incident happened around 11 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 traveling northbound is alleged to have attempted to pass another vehicle before colliding head-on with a Nissan Altima and Hyundai. Police say the Nissan operator, identified as 42-year-old Cheryl Kubiak, was fatally injured. Also killed were two Nissan passengers, identified as 18-year-old Chassity Cowgill and 23-year-old Wyatt Humphrey. An additional passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries, as was the Dodge operator. The Hyundai operator was allegedly uninjured. Authorities did not have additional information available.
