What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at County Rd 31100 in Lamar County, TX on May 13th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:17 a.m. According to investigators, a Polaris RZR was headed eastbound before veering from the road for unknown reasons. It then went into a ditch, ejecting a front seat passenger from the vehicle. The the passenger, identified as 24-year-old Cheyenne Yackeschi, was seriously injured in the crash. An additional passenger had non-life-threatening injuries while the driver was allegedly injured. Police recommended and/or issued DWI with Child Passenger and Intoxication Assault charges.
