What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a child at Proctor St and Killough St in Harris County, TX on April 27th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1 a.m. According to investigators, an ATV is said to have veered from the road, allegedly to avoid animals in the roadway. The vehicle lost control and went into a culvert before overturning and ejecting a child passenger. The child, age 8, was hospitalized with injuries that were very serious in nature and, according to reports, was later pronounced brain dead. The driver, identified as 32-year-old David Lozano Alvarado, was allegedly also seriously injured. Reports indicate Alvarado was charged with Intoxication Assault. Additional information was not immediately available.
