What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a child at I-10 and Smith Rd in Jefferson County, TX on October 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:45 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Trailblazer was headed westbound in an outside lane before another vehicle performed an unsafe change into the path of the vehicle. While attempting to avoid a collision, the Chevrolet veered from the road into a concrete barrier, causing it to overturn. An 11-year-old child in the vehicle died while 10 others, including the driver, 36-year-old Jamel Madison and a passenger, 35-year-old Tracey Moseley, were hospitalized.
