Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a child at US 59 in Panola County, TX on November 23rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:55 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda Pilot headed eastbound on FM 2517 is alleged to have failed to yield at the stop sign with intersection at US 59. Reports say the vehicle traveled into the path of an approaching southbound tractor-trailer, the two vehicles colliding in the process. Reports say a 9-year-old boy in the Honda suffered fatal injuries from the incident while the driver, a 37-year-old Louisiana man, was seriously injured.
