What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 290 in Houston, TX on July 17th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:15 a.m. A Volkswagen Tiguan operated by 38-year-old Christian Flores Veliz reportedly lost control for unknown reasons before crashing into a guardrail. Responding officers say there did not appear to be any signs of the vehicle attempting to come to a stop prior to the crash. Veliz, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
